Our Group Makes Crocheted and Knitted
Shawls.
We sit in a
circle and each person silently prays for blessings upon the recipient of each
shawl.
Our group
meets Wednesdays at 5:30 PM in the Library.
You are welcome to join us.
The St.
Paul Prayer Shawl Ministry
We have been in
existence here at St. Paul for several years.
During that time we have given in excess of 600 shawls.
We have approximately
8 to 12 ladies either knitting or crocheting during our 1 1/2 hours on each
Wednesday night. It is a wonderful time
of praying, visiting, exchanging patterns, discussing, and most of all, fun.
Shawls may be
given for: undergoing medical procedures; as a comfort after a loss or in times
of stress; during bereavement; baptism; and ordination.
We would like
your help. If you know of anyone who
would benefit from receiving one of our prayer shawls, please submit their name
in the box outside the sanctuary, along with their particular need and any
other clue (favorite color, stature, etc.) that would help us choose a
shawl. You may also give the name of
someone who needs a shawl to a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry or to one of
the church staff. Maybe you would like to choose a shawl and present it
yourself! We always pray over the shawl
and package it with a card.
We welcome anyone
who would care to join our group. We
meet in the Library every Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. In Christian love, St. Paul Prayer Shawl
Ministry
