Communications Team
Communications Team Chair -- Kristin Camp.
Communications Team meets the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30pm, Room 109. MISSION STATEMENT: Our purpose is to support the larger mission of St Paul UMC to make disciples. The Communication team seeks to promote conversation and a continuous stream of communication between the Church, the Congregation, and the Community via the ST. Paul web site, news media, and other sources.
Over the past year, the Communications Team has worked toward getting the Midweek Reminder online and out to everyone who has access to e-mail and the internet. To request an electronic Midweek Reminder, contact Sue Bacon in the Church office at 402-556-2433 or send an e-mail to saintpaul@stpaulomaha.org.
Currently the Communications team is working to make the web site more informative. Your ideas and feedback are important to our mission to keep the entire St. Paul family in the loop.
Please contact the Kristin Camp with your suggestions for improving the St. Paul website.

Missions Team
MISSIONS TEAM Contact information:
Kurt Stecker, 556-2433, kstecker@stpaulomaha.org. Team meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 in room 109.
MISSION STATEMENT
As Disciples of Christ, we will seek to identify needs within the congregation, the community and the world and engage our members to help meet these needs. As we meet these needs we will share the love and word of Christ.
MISSIONS COMMITTEE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The purpose of the Missions Committee is to lead the congregation to ways that are useful in acting like disciples of Jesus Christ.
The Committee decides among many activities that provide opportunities for the congregation to be involved in sharing the love of Christ with others within the Church, in the community and in the world.
Most of these activities are hands-on with the intent to physically involve the congregation rather than to throw money at a situation or problem.
In addition, the congregation may be engaged in personal contact with the recipients of the products/activities to gain a better intellectual or emotional understanding of the recipients and their needs.

We are involved in the work of OTOC (Omaha Together One Community) whose focus is "Building a Community That is Safe for All". Through OTOC, we lead house meetings to acquire knowledge of community needs and concerns and through research, plan strategies to bring about change. Some topics we have worked on are neighborhood revitalization, police community relations, programs for youth, libraries, and the city budget.
Our team has led studies at St. Paul on Poverty, Immigration and the difference between "Social Holiness" and Social Justice.
Future topics for consideration are Anti-Violence in Omaha, Criminal Justice, Safe Haven and the Death Penalty.
